Perfil sociodemográfico e sobrecarga do cuidador informal de idosos com câncer: uma revisão integrativa

RESUMO - Introdução: Com o envelhecimento populacional, cresce o número de casos de idosos com câncer, exigindo cuidados muitas vezes prestados por cuidadores informais, que, sem preparo adequado, podem sofrer sobrecarga física e mental. Objetivo: Analisar o perfil sociodemográfico e fatores relacionados à sobrecarga de cuidadores de idosos com câncer. Métodos: Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa a partir da pergunta “Qual o perfil sociodemográfico e os fatores relacionados à sobrecarga de trabalho dos cuidadores informais de idosos oncológicos?”. Assim, foi desenvolvida uma estratégia de busca aplicada na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde usando os descritores “Caregiver Burden”, “Aged” e “Neoplasms”. Resultados: Obtiveram-se 390 artigos, dos quais 5 foram incluídos. Na maioria deles os cuidadores eram do sexo feminino, filho/filha ou cônjuge do paciente e tinham uma média de idade maior que 60. Alguns dos fatores relacionados à sobrecarga foram escolaridade menor e mais problemas financeiros do cuidador e maior debilidade, depressão e ansiedade do paciente. Conclusão: São necessários mais estudos sobre a demografia desse grupo e os fatores de sobrecarga, notando os mais vulneráveis e fazendo intervenções para a melhora desse fardo.
