EFEITOS METABÓLICOS, IMUNITÁRIOS E INFLAMATÓRIOS DA SUPLEMENTAÇÃO DIETÉTICA DE PANAX GINSENG EM INDIVÍDUOS COM SOBREPESO E OBESIDADE

Resumo

O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar os efeitos metabólicos, imunitários e inflamatórios da suplementação dietética de Panax ginseng em indivíduos com sobrepeso e obesidade. Trata-se de Estudo de revisão qualitativa de artigos publicados em: SciELO (Library Online), PubMed (U.S. National Library of Medicine)/MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (LILACS) e Science Direct, Cochrane Li brary dos anos de 2012 a 2017. Foram encontrados um total de 77 artigos, porém, dos artigos encontrados apenas 5 foram incluídos por atenderem aos critérios de elegibilidade. Todos os estudos encontrados foram ensaios clínicos, realizados em seres humanos obesos e/ou com sobrepeso. Observou-se que o Panax ginseng é capaz de atuar na homeostase do sistema cardiovascular por meio da estimulação da angiogênese, aumentar o sistema imunitário, além de exercer atividades antibacteriana, antitumoral, anticarcinogênica, antiinflamatória, antioxidante, hipotensora, hipoglicêmica e neuroprotetora.  Os resultados sugerem que o Panax ginseng representa uma terapia alternativa promissora para pacientes acometidos por diversas doenças como a obesidade e suas comorbidades. Entretanto, dada a escassez de estudos, faz-se necessária a realização de estudos adicionais para comprovar os reais benefícios desse fitoterápico.
