O efeito da atividade física no controle da hipertensão em idosos

Resumo

Objetivo: Investigar os efeitos das atividades físicas no controle da hipertensão arterial em idosos, destacando as modalidades de exercício que apresentam maior eficácia na redução da pressão arterial. Método: Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura abrangendo estudos publicados entre 2020 e 2025 nas bases PubMed, SciELO e Cochrane Library. Foram selecionados 10 artigos que contemplaram ensaios clínicos, revisões sistemáticas e meta-análises envolvendo idosos hipertensos submetidos a diferentes protocolos de exercícios físicos. Resultados: Os exercícios aeróbicos, de resistência e isométricos promoveram reduções significativas na pressão arterial. A combinação de exercícios aeróbicos e de resistência foi eficaz especialmente em hipertensão resistente, também melhorando a força muscular e perfil metabólico. Conclusão: A prática regular de atividades físicas apresenta impacto positivo consistente no controle da hipertensão em idosos. No entanto, limitações como a heterogeneidade dos protocolos e curto período de acompanhamento indicam a necessidade de estudos futuros com maior padronização e duração para definir com precisão os protocolos ideais para essa população.
